Tintin museum opens with fan enthusiasm

The Tintin museum opened its doors at 10:30 am on a bright November day, with a long line of fans already waiting outside. The event marked the launch of a special collector’s edition of The Castafiore’s Diamonds, available only for purchase that day.

Exclusive edition features special stamp

Each copy of the collector’s edition purchased at the museum’s bookstore on that day received a unique stamp. This marking was intended to authenticate the limited release and distinguish it from other versions of the comic.

Author discusses past event and attendance

Philippe Fontaine, who wrote the preface for this edition, gave a conference and noted that the attendance was similar to the launch of the newspaper version of The Castafiore’s Diamonds three years ago. That event also featured a special stamp, dated October 1st, 2023.

High sales in the morning hours

By 12:00 pm, 150 visitors had gathered, and more than 400 copies of the collector’s edition had been sold. Some visitors purchased multiple copies, showing strong interest in the limited release.

Afternoon sees calmer crowd

In the afternoon, the crowd thinned out after the initial rush of dedicated fans and early visitors. However, the event remained enjoyable for those who attended, with free museum access and a keychain depicting the album’s cover given to all visitors.

Future Tintin album teased

Philippe Fontaine mentioned that a new album in the newspaper version of Tintin is already in preparation, though he did not reveal the title. He casually mentioned The 714 Flight to Sydney during the discussion, raising speculation about its potential as the next release. As Dupond and Dupont would say: “Botus et mouche cousue!”
