Mercedes is currently dealing with the unexplained disappearance of her partner, Ste Hay, during a spa day. She feels a deep sense of responsibility for his absence and is actively trying to uncover the truth behind his vanishing. Mercedes is unaware that Gemma Johnson is planning to eliminate her in order to be with Warren Fox. According to Jennifer Metcalfe, when the truth comes to light, Mercedes will be shocked and angry. In the upcoming episodes, Mercedes and her friend Leela Dexter will question various villagers, with several characters—including James Nightingale and Sienna Blake—coming under suspicion. Mercedes and Leela are working closely together to find out what happened to Ste, and Jennifer praised the chemistry between the two characters. She also mentioned that recent seasons of Hollyoaks have become more fast-paced, adjusting to shorter episode formats that keep the storylines dynamic and engaging.
