Delonghi, a well-known Italian manufacturer of home appliances, has unveiled a more budget-friendly version of its automatic coffee machine with built-in grinder, called the Rivelia Start. This new model is part of Delonghi’s Rivelia line, which targets consumers looking for high-quality coffee-making experiences. The Rivelia Start is based on the Rivelia Latte model but has been simplified to offer a lower price point. It removes some of the more advanced features found in the Latte version, such as the ability to create multiple user profiles and save custom brewing routines. One of the most noticeable differences is the replacement of the 3.5-inch color touchscreen with more traditional, sensitive touch controls. The Rivelia Start also limits the number of available coffee specialties to 10, down from 16 in the Rivelia Latte. Despite these simplifications, the machine retains key features like the Bean Switch System, which allows users to switch between two 250 g coffee bean containers. This feature makes it easy to alternate between different types of coffee beans without needing to clean the machine. A new feature added to the Rivelia Start is the ability to make Cold Brew in under five minutes, a relatively quick preparation time compared to traditional methods. The machine also continues to use the LatteCrema Hot system, which automatically steams and heats milk for beverages like cappuccino and Flat White. After each use, the Rivelia Start automatically runs a rinse cycle to help maintain cleanliness and make upkeep easier. Priced at around 649.99 euros, the Rivelia Start is significantly more affordable than the Rivelia Latte, which costs 799 euros. However, its market position could be affected if the Latte model is frequently discounted. The Rivelia Start is expected to compete directly with its more expensive sibling, offering a more accessible option for consumers who want a high-quality coffee machine without the higher cost of advanced features.
