CCI organizes information meeting for affected businesses

The CCI of the Arles region organized an information meeting on October 29 at the Palais des Congrès in Arles to help local businesses understand available assistance programs and ask questions about their situations. The event was aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, merchants, artisans, and agricultural businesses that had experienced damage or disruptions to their operations.

Meeting draws large attendance and online viewers

The large Van Gogh room at the Palais des Congrès was nearly full, and the meeting was also broadcast on social media to include those who could not attend in person. Key contacts from various administrative and financial institutions were present to answer questions and provide guidance tailored to each participant's needs.

Multiple government and financial representatives attend

Numerous administrative bodies were represented, including the DREETS PACA, DDETS 13, the Regional Directorate of Public Finances, Urssaf, the Commercial Court, insurance representatives, bailiffs, APESA France, and the Bank of France. These organizations aimed to support affected businesses with information and assistance.

Natural disaster status declared in many communes

The state of natural disaster has been officially recognized in an emergency for many communes in the department. Some areas still await recognition, but a new commission will be held soon. In recognized communes, businesses have 30 days to file insurance claims, which can expedite reimbursements.

CCI president highlights concerns and calls for action

Stéphane Paglia, president of the CCI and a business owner in Saint-Martin-de-Crau, expressed concern for those affected by flooding, noting that the media had not given the event enough attention. He urged entrepreneurs unable to operate normally due to lack of customers or staff to contact the CCI for help.

Calamity fund and support cell established

The Chamber of Crafts announced the creation of a calamity fund to assist artisans, though it is not a large sum. Representatives advised affected individuals to complete forms and reach out to the CCI and local officials. A support cell has been set up by the CCI to assist with the process.

Insurance and administrative guidance provided

Insurance representatives noted that while declaring a natural disaster would help speed up reimbursements, businesses would still need to pay deductibles. They recommended using a justice commissioner to obtain necessary documents. State representatives also explained how to access specific measures related to taxes, Urssaf, VAT, and part-time work.

Local authorities confirm additional aid for farmers

Cyril Juglaret, a regional councilor, confirmed that the 5,000 euro aid promised to agricultural enterprises would also be given to affected business leaders and independent professionals. Mandy Graillon, a departmental councilor, stated that a one million euro fund for agriculture would be distributed based on field reports, with a focus on helping farmers find hay and supporting rice growers.
