Samsung Galaxy A16 5G price drops

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, originally priced at 249 euros, is now available at Cdiscount for 138 euros using the promo code 10DES99, but only if the purchase meets a minimum basket value of 99 euros. This significant discount makes the phone more affordable for budget-conscious buyers.

Phone's specifications and features

The Galaxy A16 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, 128 GB of storage, and a 5000 mAh battery. It promises six years of major Android updates, a feature that is particularly notable at this price point. The phone is an international version, which may affect regional availability and support.

Display and camera capabilities

The device features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 1000 nits. It includes a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP front camera. The phone also has a 3.5 mm audio jack, NFC support, and IP54 certification for splash resistance, though it lacks optical stabilization and has a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

Performance and battery life

The Galaxy A16 5G uses the Exynos 1330 processor with 4 GB of RAM, which can cause slowdowns when switching between tasks. It supports 25 W fast charging, allowing a full charge in about 1 hour and 30 minutes, though no charger is included. In the PCMark battery test, the phone lasted 11 hours and 29 minutes, which is enough for a day's use.

Positioning and comparisons

The Galaxy A16 5G is marketed as a durable option for basic tasks like messaging, social media, and video watching. It is compared to the Galaxy A17 5G, which includes optical stabilization and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The A16 lacks these features but is highlighted for its long-term software support rather than high performance.

Discount and target audience

The price reduction of 111 euros brings the Galaxy A16 5G to 138 euros, with an additional 10 euro discount through the promo code. However, the discount is seen as relatively small, and the international version may affect sales conditions. The phone is recommended for users seeking a simple 5G smartphone with long-term support, though it may not be ideal for gamers or those who multitask frequently.
