The updated version of L'Avenir en commun, the program book promoted by French politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon, will be released on November 6 and 7, just over five months before the first round of the 2027 presidential election. Deputy Clémence Guetté announced the publication date during a press conference. The book has now been renamed The New France and has undergone five updates since its initial release in 2016, with the most recent revision completed in January 2025. The new edition will include six chapters—covering ecology, economics, social issues, scientific issues, democracy, and geopolitics—up from four in the previous version. The revised program will be published by La Dispute editions in an initial print run of 30,000 copies, according to Clémence Guetté. The book outlines specific policies that Jean-Luc Mélenchon and future members of his government plan to implement starting in May 2027, aiming to address the ecological and social challenges France faces. Following the publication, Mélenchon will hold a meeting on November 7 at Le Bourget, a major exhibition park in the Paris region. He will also provide post-sale support during a "convention," which will include a speech, also scheduled for November 7 at the same location. In addition to the upcoming events, Jean-Luc Mélenchon will hold a meeting in Clermont-Ferrand on October 11. This date follows a meeting by Gabriel Attal, the candidate from the Renaissance party, who will be in Lyon the day before. These events are part of a broader campaign strategy as the 2027 presidential election approaches, with each candidate seeking to outline their vision and secure public support.
