Inter Milan staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Udinese 5-3 on Monday, keeping their perfect start to the Serie A season intact. The match saw Inter trail by two goals within the first 16 minutes, with James Abankwah and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp scoring early for Udinese. However, Inter responded with flair, equalizing through Carlos Augusto and Nicolò Barella before halftime. In the second half, Marcus Thuram, Francesco Esposito, and Ange-Yoan Bonny added three more goals to seal the victory. Udinese managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Idrissa Gueye, but it was too late to change the result. Inter's win kept them level with Roma at the top of the league, both teams having 12 points from four matches. Roma had earlier secured a 2-0 victory at Torino, with goals from Donyell Malen and Niccolò Pisilli. Roma’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, praised the chemistry between Malen and Paulo Dybala, noting how their combination created scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, Como moved into third place with a 2-1 win over Parma, following their impressive Champions League debut against RB Leipzig. Cesc Fàbregas, Como’s manager, expressed confidence in his team’s potential after the victory. In Spain, Real Betis moved up to third in La Liga with a 2-1 win at Villarreal. Cucho Hernández and Natan scored for Betis, while Gerard Moreno opened the scoring for Villarreal. The result left Villarreal in the relegation zone, and Moreno admitted the team is struggling, saying they need to improve their cohesion and resilience. “Right now everything’s going against us,” Moreno said, emphasizing the need for unity and better performance. Inter’s John Stones suffered an apparent hamstring injury during the match and will need further tests to assess the severity of the issue. Manager Cristian Chivu said he had not yet spoken to Stones but noted that the England defender felt something in his flexor muscle. The injury adds concern for Inter as they continue their strong start to the season.
