The MSI Katana 15 HX is currently available at Fnac for 1,449.99 €, a 550 € discount compared to its lowest recorded price of 1,999.99 € over the last 30 days. This laptop is part of MSI's mainstream gaming line, positioned as a more affordable option compared to the company's higher-end Raider and Titan series. The model features a 144 Hz Full HD anti-reflective IPS screen, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, an Ethernet port, and HDMI 2.1, making it suitable for Full HD gaming on popular online first-person shooter and action games. The 144 Hz screen provides smoother visuals than a standard 60 Hz display, enhancing the gaming experience. Under the hood, the MSI Katana 15 HX is powered by an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads, which is not only capable of handling gaming but also more demanding tasks like video editing or live streaming. However, the laptop has some limitations, including a Full HD screen instead of a higher-resolution QHD display, 512 GB of storage that may fill up quickly with large games, and a plastic chassis, which is less durable than metal alternatives. The laptop weighs 2.4 kg with a 75 Wh battery, making it portable but ideally suited for use while plugged in during gaming sessions. At the time of the check on October 9, no other retailer offered the MSI Katana 15 HX at a lower price. A comparable model, the Acer Nitro V 17 AI, was available for 1,399.99 € at Darty, featuring a larger 17-inch screen and 1 TB of storage. However, the MSI Katana 15 HX offers a more compact 15.6-inch screen, which is easier to carry around. A previous version of the MSI Katana 15 HX with an RTX 5070 was available at Amazon for 970 € in late July, indicating that the current price is still higher than some earlier deals. The current price of 1,449.99 € at Fnac includes a significant discount compared to the lowest price recorded in the last 30 days. However, if a buyer is not in a hurry, waiting for a potential future price decrease could be a consideration. The MSI Katana 15 HX is marketed as a versatile device that can handle both work and gaming tasks, making it appealing to users looking for a single machine that can meet multiple needs.
