Kit Green's life has been turned upside down after receiving a stage three breast cancer diagnosis. The revelation came as a shock to the detective, who learned he would need further tests to determine the best course of treatment, with a mastectomy likely. In the aftermath of his diagnosis, Kit reluctantly confided in Todd Grimshaw, who has since been determined to support him regardless of his wishes. Tonight, Todd overheard Kit calling in sick to work, making up an excuse about an emergency dentist appointment. Todd quickly realized the truth and eventually prompted Kit to admit that the hospital had called with an appointment for his CT scan. Later, with no one else aware of his struggles, Kit sat alone in the waiting room until Todd arrived, clearly grateful for his presence. After the appointment, the two men headed to the Rovers, where Todd suggested Kit may need chemotherapy and urged him to seek support from his family. Kit dismissed the idea, but Todd pleaded with him to consider Bernie Winter, a family member. Before Kit could respond, they were interrupted by Lisa Connor-Swain, who was upset about being called in to cover for Kit.
