Cholet Basket faces Spartak Subotica in BCL match

Cholet Basket, which has maintained a perfect record in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) this season, will face Spartak Subotica in a match scheduled for Wednesday, October 28. The game will be broadcast on Courtside 1891 via DAZN. This encounter marks Cholet's third continental appointment of the season.

Spartak Subotica's recent performance

Spartak Subotica, the Serbian club, had a significant breakthrough last season by winning the Serbian championship after two decades of dominance by Crvena Zvezda Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade. Subotica notably eliminated Crvena Zvezda in the semifinals before defeating FMP Belgrade in the final.

Spartak Subotica's inconsistent start to this season

However, the team's performance this season has been inconsistent, with a narrow loss to Hapoël Holon (84-86) and a close defeat to Partizan Belgrade (80-82), despite a strong start that included a 96-64 victory over RASTA Vechta.

Cholet's challenges in domestic league

Cholet, however, has faced challenges in its domestic league, the Betclic ÉLITE, after a four-game winning streak. The team suffered two consecutive losses, including a recent 86-69 defeat to Nanterre 92.

Cholet's squad and young talent

Cholet's squad includes several players with experience in the French league, such as Alen Omic, Amar Gegic, Danilo Nikolic, and Luka Cerovina, which could be an advantage against the French team. The team also looks to its young players to regain momentum, with 17-year-old point guard Aaron Towo-Nansi delivering a strong performance in his debut in Betclic ÉLITE, scoring 16 points and recording five assists.

Cholet's response to injuries

In response to these challenges, Cholet has signed JeQuan Lewis as a medical pigiste, a temporary replacement for injured players. The 31-year-old American point guard brings valuable experience, having been a finalist in EuroCup with JL Bourg in 2024 and playing for Igokea in BCL last season.
