Two men arrived at a property in Kansas City, Missouri, to perform concrete work in a basement — but prosecutors say only one of them left. William T. Morrison, 62, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly killing his business partner, Johnathon Brown. Brown was reported missing on May 13, just three days after he was last seen traveling to Morrison's property to complete the concrete job. Brown’s disappearance initially raised concerns, but the situation took a grim turn when police discovered his body. A gunshot wound to the head was found on the body, which had been buried beneath a freshly poured concrete slab. The discovery came after cadaver dogs detected the scent of human remains in the area, leading investigators to the location where the concrete work had recently taken place. According to an employee who spoke with detectives, Morrison gave her two cellphones and instructed her to dispose of them after Brown went missing. This detail has added to the investigation's focus on Morrison’s possible involvement in covering up the crime. The employee’s account suggests Morrison may have been trying to erase digital evidence that could connect him to Brown’s disappearance. Morrison is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court next week. The case has drawn attention from local authorities, who are seeking to determine the full extent of Morrison’s involvement and whether any other individuals were aware of the events leading to Brown’s death.
