A mobile service bus from the Maison de la Famille of the Departmental Union of Family Associations (Udaf) in the Loire region recently traveled through the streets of Saint-Étienne to inform residents about their rights and help them with administrative tasks. The bus made its first appearance on Wednesday, September 30, at 140 rue de la Montat, near the Monthieu city stadium. According to the city of Saint-Étienne, the initiative aims to assist residents in "completing their online procedures and informing them about their rights." The mobile Maison de la Famille provides free help without requiring an appointment. Udaf members will assist people with requests to the Caf, the Public Finance Office, or retirement and health organizations. Citizens can also receive help in renewing their identity documents. The Udaf mobile bus will return to rue de la Montat on Fridays, October 9 and 21, from 14 to 17 hours. It will also visit the Tarentaize-Beaubrun neighborhood on Fridays, October 9 and November 6, from 9 to 12 hours at place Boivin. Saint-Étienne residents living near the Grand-Clos shopping center can meet the bus on Mondays, October 12 and November 9, from 9 to 12 hours. The city of Saint-Étienne says other dates will be "scheduled later." The Udaf regularly uses mobile buses to reach residents. On Wednesday, September 9, the association launched a parenting bus at the Sail-sous-Couzan park to engage with parents and discuss family-related topics. The initiative reflects a broader effort to make administrative services more accessible to the public. By bringing assistance directly to communities, the Udaf aims to reduce barriers for people who may find it difficult to navigate bureaucratic processes. The mobile services are part of a strategy to support families and ensure that residents are aware of their rights and available resources. These events are open to all residents and offer a chance to receive guidance on a variety of administrative matters. The mobile bus program is one of several outreach efforts by the Udaf to support families across the region. In addition to helping with administrative tasks, the association also organizes events focused on family well-being, education, and community engagement. These initiatives aim to create a more connected and informed local population. The city of Saint-Étienne has expressed support for the program and plans to continue collaborating with the Udaf on future events.
