Auroch Digital and poncle have announced the upcoming release of Warhammer Survivors, a new video game that blends the gameplay style of Vampire Survivors with the rich lore of the Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar universes. These fictional settings, created by Games Workshop, are known for their grim, sci-fi and fantasy themes, featuring war-torn planets, powerful armies, and mythical creatures. Warhammer Survivors is scheduled to launch on November 10, 2026, and will be available on multiple platforms including PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, as well as iOS and Android devices. According to the official press release, the game will offer more than 40 playable characters, or "champions," including notable figures like Malum Caedo of Boltgun, Lyssa Revenya, and the legendary Catachan warrior. These characters are drawn from the Warhammer universe, where players will face off against hordes of monstrous enemies and engage in boss battles against figures like the Norn Emissary. The game will also feature over 75 different weapons, ranging from close-combat tools like chainsaw swords to large-scale attacks such as orbital strikes. The game will incorporate elements inspired by the hobby of miniature painting, which is a popular activity among Warhammer fans. References to this include actions like "dice bucket throws" and "overturned Nuln Oil paint pots" on the battlefield, which are playful nods to the way players often set up their miniatures and manage their game pieces. Warhammer Survivors will be priced at 7.49 euros, with a 10% discount offered at its launch. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the game for free starting from the day of its release. A demo of the game is already available for players on Steam and the Xbox PC application, allowing them to experience the gameplay before the full release. Pre-orders for the game will open on October 6 for PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, and on October 27 for Microsoft platforms. This early access to pre-orders is intended to help players secure their copy ahead of the official launch date.
