NGE chosen for railway project

NGE, a French engineering and construction company, has been selected by SNCF Voyageurs, the passenger arm of the French national rail company, to lead a major modernization project at a key railway facility in Paris.

Project involves major upgrades

The project involves transforming the Technicentre Sud-Est Européen, a historic site that welcomed the first TGV (high-speed train) services in 1981, to handle maintenance for the new generation of TGVs, known as TGV M.

Contract value and timeline

The contract, valued at 105 million euros, will take 28 months to complete. The first preparatory work began in July, but more substantial changes are expected to start in 2028.

Renovation will be comprehensive

The construction will involve a complete renovation of the site, which is located in Charenton, near the outskirts of Paris. The goal is to ensure the facility can support the latest advancements in rail technology and maintenance.
