New Mac mini model launched

The Apple Mac mini M6 (2026) has been released with the same compact form factor as its predecessor, the Mac mini M4, but it now includes the newer M6 chip. Apple also offers an M5 Pro variant for users with more demanding needs, though the entry-level M6 model is expected to attract the majority of buyers. Despite a global component shortage that has increased computer prices, the Mac mini M6 (2026) with 16 GB of unified memory and 256 GB of SSD has a reference price of 1,049 euros, while some retailers like Cdiscount are selling it for 949 euros.

Design and connectivity features

The Mac mini M6 (2026) features a monoblock recycled aluminum chassis that measures 12.7 cm on each side and 5 cm in height. It retains the same design as the previous model and includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-C ports, a headphone jack on the front, and a full-size HDMI port. New features include an Ethernet port with 2.5 Gb/s speed and Wi-Fi 7 support. The device can connect to up to three external displays, but the power button is still located under the chassis at the back, which some users find inconvenient. Additionally, the SSD is now non-replaceable, and the base model's 256 GB of storage may fill up quickly, with Apple's storage upgrades being costly.

Performance and AI capabilities

The M6 chip, built on 2 nm technology, offers notable improvements in both processor and graphics performance. The Mac mini M6 (2026) can handle office tasks, editing, and more intensive creative work with ease. It remains silent even under heavy usage, and its AI capabilities have been highlighted in testing. However, for users looking to run large language models locally, the M6 may not be the best option, as detailed in a dedicated article.

Extended Black Friday promotions

Black Friday 2026 has expanded from a single weekend of deals to an entire month of promotions, often called "Black Month." This period is ideal for making end-of-year purchases, with various retailers like Boulanger offering discounts on TVs, laptops, and audio equipment. To help track deals, a Chrome extension, a WhatsApp channel, and a newsletter are available.
