Railway disruptions persist in Bouches-du-Rhône after severe weather on October 20, with limited service and extended travel times across multiple routes.
Railway disruptions continue in Bouches-du-Rhône
Railway traffic in the Bouches-du-Rhône department will remain disrupted on Monday, more than two weeks after severe weather on October 20 caused widespread damage to the region’s rail network, according to SNCF Voyageurs. The company said in a press release that while some services have resumed, several routes in the Sud region will still face restrictions to ensure passenger safety and to repair the infrastructure.Regional train services remain limited
On the regional TER ZOU ! network, the route connecting Marseille and Miramas via Rognac remains heavily disrupted, with only a few trains managing to complete the full journey. On the Côte Bleue line, most services between Marseille and Miramas via Martigues, as well as between Miramas and Avignon via Arles, are still operating but with significantly longer travel times. The line between Miramas and Avignon via Cavaillon remains affected by cancellations and route changes.Connections to Marseille still limited
Between Avignon, Valence, and Lyon, train traffic is largely unaffected, but connections to Marseille remain problematic, with limited service on parts of the route or extended travel times. The link between Avignon and the Occitanie region will return to normal on Monday, but direct trains between Marseille and Occitanie will remain interrupted. Travelers can reach Occitanie via Intercity trains, with reservations required, or through Avignon using TER services.Main line services partially restored
Two daily round trips between Marseille and Bordeaux will resume on Monday using Intercity trains, though with longer travel times. The overnight Paris-Nice train will remain canceled. The TGV line from Paris-Gare-de-Lyon to Miramas will be limited to Avignon-Centre in the coming days, as repairs continue on the affected tracks.SNCF urges travelers to check updates
SNCF Voyageurs recommends that travelers check the latest schedules and traffic conditions before traveling, especially through SNCF Connect or the TER websites. For regional train updates, passengers can call 04 13 94 30 50, while those needing information about long-distance services can contact 36 35.
