Delayed start due to counterfeit tickets

Youssou N'Dour's concert at the Accor Arena on Saturday, October 17, began nearly two hours late because of 4,000 counterfeit tickets that caused chaos at the venue. Many attendees could not enter despite 11 access points being open, including two leading to the artist's dressing rooms.

Full capacity despite delays

The Accor Arena was reported to be at full capacity, with 20,000 people seated around a central stage. Despite the delays, the audience and the artist reportedly remained in good spirits, with the concert continuing past the scheduled end time of midnight.

Concert abruptly cut short

The event was suddenly ended without explanation, with the arena's management turning off the sound and lighting. N'Dour, 67, continued to perform four songs in the dark before addressing the crowd, stating he refused to leave the stage.

Artist criticizes management

N'Dour criticized the management's handling of the event, expressing frustration. The audience and the artist's team were confused by the abrupt end, with the latter suggesting N'Dour did not understand the situation, leading to his frustration.

Management cites safety concerns

The Accor Arena management acknowledged the disappointment but stated they were "forced to cut the sound" to respect schedules for public safety and to ensure conditions for people returning to public transport, especially due to "strong urban violence in Paris."

Other venues respond differently

Other venues, such as the Olympia, canceled their events, while Bercy proceeded with its concert. The producers claimed they acted in good faith, believing crowds had dispersed, and were unaware of the external circumstances. They also noted the evacuation message from the venue did not function properly.
