The Apple MacBook Air 13 inches (M5) is currently available for 1,299.00 € at several online retailers, including Amazon, Fnac.com, Darty.com, and Cdiscount. According to a recent comparison of 77 models tested in a laboratory, it offers the best price/performance ratio in its category. The device features Apple's latest M5 chip, which was first introduced in the MacBook Pro in 2025 and now appears in the 2026 version of the MacBook Air. This model is now positioned in the mid-range of Apple's laptop lineup, thanks to the recent release of the MacBook Neo. Its starting price of 1,199 € includes 512 GB of storage by default, a significant upgrade compared to earlier models. The Apple MacBook Air M5 (2026) is considered a top choice for users seeking a powerful and durable laptop without a high price tag. While the M5 chip does not represent a major leap in performance compared to its predecessor, it is still capable of handling typical office tasks and even some creative work. Apple has also increased the base storage capacity to 512 GB, maintaining the same price as in 2025, which is a notable value proposition for consumers. The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 14 (Core Ultra X7) is noted as the second best in terms of price/performance ratio. It is a high-end Windows ultraportable with an elegant aluminum body and a high-quality OLED display that is well-calibrated for color accuracy. Powered by an Intel Core Ultra X7 processor, the device offers strong performance for advanced office tasks and light content creation. It also features impressive battery life for normal use. However, the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 14 has some drawbacks. Its built-in webcam is considered inadequate for high-quality video calls. The device also comes with unnecessary pre-installed software, which can take up system resources and affect performance. Additionally, its base configuration in terms of memory and storage is seen as slightly underwhelming for a premium ultraportable of this class.
