From 21 to 27 October 2026, Mon Premier Festival will return for its 22nd edition, offering a diverse program designed for audiences of all ages. The festival will showcase more than 100 films, 300 sessions, and 24 international premieres, along with meetings, workshops, film concerts, and performances across 21 cultural venues in 15 districts of Paris. All events will be accessible at a single price of 4.50 euros.
This year’s theme, "Dans tous les sens," focuses on the unexpected, movement, emotions, and the freedom to explore beyond traditional boundaries. The festival will present new films, classics from cinematic heritage, and special event screenings, allowing children, young people, and families to experience cinema in many different forms.
Barbara Schulz, the godmother of this 22nd edition, is a seasoned actress, director, and screenwriter with over thirty years of experience in cinema, television, and theater. She has won two Molière awards for her work in Joyeuses Pâques (2001) and Comme il vous plaira (2022), and directed her first feature film, Le Secret de Khéops, in 2025. Currently, she is performing in Ailleurs, a play by Audrey Schebat, at the Comédie des Champs-Élysées, alongside Éric Elmosnino, until December 30, 2026.
The festival will open on Wednesday, October 21, at 15:00 at the Forum des images. The event will include the world premiere screening of the animated film Muyi, la légende du village des femmes by Julien Chheng, who will be present alongside Barbara Schulz and the festival’s two juries. The closing ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 27, at 14:00 at the Cinéma des Cinéastes. This will feature the awarding of several prizes, including the Paris Mômes Public Prize, the Children's Jury Ciné+ Family Prize, and the Young TUMO Jury Prize in partnership with the ESRA. The event will also include the world premiere of New York, Miriam et moi by Rémy Schaepman and Léahn Vivier-Chapas, which is set for release on March 24, 2027.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Paris-Rome twinning, Mon Premier Festival will honor Italian cinema with a selection of films spanning different eras and genres. This includes Bellissima by Luchino Visconti, Il maestro by Andrea di Stefano, and La Fameuse Invasion des ours en Sicile by Lorenzo Mattotti. The festival also features a special contribution from Cinéma dei Piccoli, the children's cinema hall in Rome. Filmmakers Andrea di Stefano and Lorenzo Mattotti will be present to accompany their films and engage with the public.
The festival will screen many films on the big screen before their official release, as well as notable works from recent festivals, including Le Corset, Congo Boy, and Le Mystère Lucy Lost. A selection of films will compete for the Public Prize, the Children's Jury Prize awarded by children aged 8 to 10 years guided by the Robert Lynen Cinematheque, and the Young Jury Prize awarded by a group of young people aged 12 to 18 years from the TUMO Paris digital creation school.
The festival will take place in 21 cinema halls and cultural venues across Paris, including The Luminor Hôtel de Ville, The Studio des Ursulines, The Club de l’Etoile, L’Archipel, Le Louxor, Le Majestic Bastille, L’Escurial, Les 7 Parnassiens, Le Chaplin Denfert, L’Entrepôt, Le Chaplin Saint-Lambert, Le Majestic Passy, Le Cinéma des Cinéastes, Le CiNey, Le MK2 Quai de Seine, Le MK2 Gambetta, Le Forum des Images, La Gaîté lyrique, La Cinémathèque française, L’Agence du court métrage, and Le Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature for special sessions.
