Rachel Chinouriri's musical evolution

At 27 years old, Rachel Chinouriri is not just another ambassador of the currently popular sugary pop genre. Although she accompanies some of the genre's icons, the native of South London is carving her own path.

Collaborations and recognition

She opened for Sabrina Carpenter on several dates and participated in Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival in August last year. Her debut album What a Devastating Turn of Events had already impressed critics and established her musical identity.

New album and its themes

This second album, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, released on October 16, continues in this direction, although it opens new musical perspectives. The album "addresses the tensions that mark this major phase of prefrontal lobe maturation, around the age of 25, through synthpop, dance, and melodic rhythms," notes the British independent magazine Still Listening.

Musical style and content

Through the twelve tracks, the artist-songwriter-performer dissects her life between the ages of 22 and 26. She talks about loneliness, especially that felt in the evening in the middle of the dance floor.
