Seattle’s Tasveer Film Festival & Market has announced the lineup for its 21st edition, set to take place from October 13 to 18. The event will showcase 136 films from 16 different countries, offering audiences a diverse range of storytelling in more than 25 languages. This year’s festival continues its mission of highlighting South Asian and diaspora narratives, bringing together filmmakers, artists, and audiences for a week of cultural exchange and cinematic exploration. The festival will open with the film Lali, directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat. This film, which premiered at the Berlinale Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival, will have its West Coast debut at Tasveer. Lali is expected to draw attention for its compelling narrative and artistic direction, marking a significant moment for the festival and the film’s international reach. The lineup includes films from a variety of countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
