The Pau Retro Show is preparing for its third edition, which will run from October 2 to 4 at the Exhibition Park in the French city of Pau. Since its debut, the event has drawn over 48,000 visitors and has become a popular gathering spot for car enthusiasts and collectors. This year, the festival will highlight Route 66, a historic highway stretching from Chicago to the west coast of the United States, which is marking its 100th anniversary. The Pau Retro Show aims to honor Route 66 as a "symbol" of the American dream, reflecting its cultural and historical significance. At the event, visitors can explore The Grand Garage of Collectors, a special area where vintage car owners display their prized vehicles. Attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite collectible car, adding a participatory element to the experience. The festival also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Renault Sport, a division of the French car manufacturer known for producing high-performance vehicles. A selection of racing and sports cars from Renault will be on display, offering a glimpse into the brand's motorsport heritage. A DeLorean, the iconic car featured in the Back to the Future film trilogy, will be showcased at Doc's Garage, a themed space inspired by the movie. While the DeLorean won't be eligible for the Public Prize, it will be prominently displayed at the Exhibition Park. In addition to the car displays, the Pau Retro Show will include a variety of other activities. The Pau Card Show will bring together collectors of items such as Pokémon cards, Panini stickers, and memorabilia from sports and other hobbies, allowing them to trade or purchase missing pieces. The event will also feature live music, with performances by artists such as Charlie & Lulu, Boris, and other rock, metal, and blues bands. The organizers have also mentioned an exhibition of technical objects and accessories, adding another layer of interest for attendees. Tickets for adults cost 12 euros, while visitors under 18 years old can attend for 6 euros. Attendees can also purchase three-day passes for access to the entire event. With its mix of automotive nostalgia, cultural celebrations, and entertainment, the Pau Retro Show promises to be a memorable experience for car lovers and general visitors alike.
