Vehicle speeding on Vesoul Street

Around 00:20 on October 8, a police rescue team observed a Renault Mégane speeding on Vesoul Street in Besançon during a patrol. The vehicle’s behavior prompted the officers to attempt to stop it, but the driver did not comply with their instructions.

Driver identified with outstanding warrant

The police recognized the driver as a man who was the subject of a warrant issued by the Besançon search brigade. This identification led to further action being taken against him later that day.

Arrest at his residence

On the same day, a unit from the anti-criminality brigade went to the man’s home to execute his arrest. The 22-year-old was taken into custody and later admitted to refusing to comply with the officers’ instructions during his interrogation.

Previous traffic offenses acknowledged

During his custody, the man was also questioned about three other procedures involving similar traffic offenses he had committed previously. He admitted to the charges brought against him in those cases as well.

Sentencing and detention

On October 9, the man was referred for a procedure involving a pre-trial admission of guilt. He was sentenced to 14 months in prison, with a warrant for his detention, and was then transported to the Besançon detention center.
