The ASVEL team, led by Tony Parker, will face the Chorale de Roanne, coached by T.J. Parker, in a Betclic Élite league match on Sunday at 7 p.m. Both teams have won their opening two matches of the season. The game will be broadcast on DAZN and shown live on the L'Équipe channel. ASVEL began the season with two away victories: 85-97 against Cholet on September 27, where Patty Mills scored 17 points, and 65-70 against Gravelines-Dunkerque on October 4. The Chorale de Roanne, which was promoted to the top league, defeated Boulazac 79-81 on September 26 and Nanterre 93-83 on October 2, with Darius Johnson scoring 26 points in the latter match. Meanwhile, JDA Dijon took a provisional lead in the standings after beating Limoges 108-96. The undefeated Paris Basketball team will host Strasbourg this Sunday. The two Parker brothers previously faced each other on September 19 at the Philippe-Chatrier court at Roland-Garros during a semifinal of the Supercup. Roanne won 73-71, never trailing, with Darius Johnson contributing 19 points. ASVEL lost the match and had 25 turnovers. The Chorale then lost the final to Paris Basketball 81-59. Roanne's victory came at a cost, as American player Darius Hannah was injured in the first quarter, and T.J. Parker announced that evening that his starting center would be out for the rest of the season. The club has since signed Filip Stanic, a German interior player who trained at ALBA Berlin and played last season with Oldenbourg. The LNB has approved Stanic's qualification, allowing him to make his debut on Sunday. Stanic's contract runs until May 2027. On the ASVEL side, Juhann Begarin has joined as a medical assistant for Mathis Dossou-Yovo, who is recovering from an adductor injury and is expected to be absent until at least early November. Begarin, a former Monaco player, has signed for a month initially and was not listed in the team for the match in Paris on Wednesday. This Betclic Élite match occurs during a busy week for ASVEL. The team recently defeated Paris Basketball in the Euroleague 96-98 on Wednesday. They will host the Etoile Rouge de Belgrade at the Astroballe on Tuesday and then travel to face Real Madrid on Thursday.
