Prixtel, a French mobile service provider, has launched a new mobile data plan called Oxygène, starting at 9.99 euros per month. Unlike traditional plans that charge a fixed fee for a set amount of data, this plan adjusts the cost based on how much data a user actually consumes. The plan offers a minimum of 100 GB of data in France, with the possibility of going up to 140 GB, and there is no long-term contract required. It includes unlimited calls, SMS, and MMS, and users can choose between a physical SIM card or an eSIM, which is a digital version of a SIM card that can be activated on compatible devices. The pricing for the Oxygène plan is structured in tiers. For up to 100 GB of data, the cost is 9.99 euros per month. If a user consumes up to 120 GB, the price increases to 11.99 euros, and for up to 140 GB, it is 13.99 euros. The plan also provides free 5G access when used with a compatible smartphone, but if a user exceeds their data limit, their internet speed will be reduced. Additionally, the plan includes 32 GB of data per month in the European Union and the overseas departments (DOM), along with unlimited calls and SMS/MMS to these regions and to France. The Oxygène plan is primarily designed for use in Metropolitan France, though it does offer some international data. Other features include the ability to block premium rate numbers, visual voicemail for iPhone users, Wi-Fi calling, VoLTE (Voice over LTE) for clearer calls, and 5G access under certain conditions. Wi-Fi calling can be especially helpful in areas with weak mobile signals, allowing users to make calls through a Wi-Fi connection. Prixtel reports that the plan has received a customer rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on 8,004 reviews. Before signing up, users are encouraged to check the 4G/5G coverage at their location and review the plan's standardized information sheet, pricing guide, and contractual summary. The Oxygène plan is being marketed as a flexible alternative to traditional mobile data plans, allowing users to pay based on their actual usage while still having access to a generous data allowance.
