Ninja, a company known for its air fryers, ice cream makers, and powerful blenders, has launched the CrushBOSS, a new multi-functional kitchen appliance from its SharkNinja brand. This device combines a blender pitcher, a kitchen robot, and a portable mixing bottle into one system. The most complete version, the LB401, includes all three containers and is priced at 249.99 €, with a two-year warranty. It features a motor with 1,200 W of power, a 2.1 L blender pitcher (with 1.9 L usable space), a 1.8 L kitchen robot bowl with a large feed tube, and a 710 mL BlendBOSS bottle that includes a handle and removable straw. The device can rotate at speeds up to 5,000 rpm (blender), 1,400 rpm (kitchen robot), and 18,000 rpm (bottle), and comes with various blades and modes to handle different cooking tasks. The CrushBOSS is sold in a box that includes the motorized base, the large pitcher, the kitchen robot bowl, the BlendBOSS bottle, and all necessary blade hardware. However, it is described as bulky, requiring a significant amount of countertop space and storage for its various components. The design is sleek, with a dark matte gray finish and a single, smooth motion for assembling the containers, which lock securely into place. The device features a knob and a round digital screen that displays menus in French. The interface automatically detects the installed container and shows the appropriate programs. Users can choose between three main operating modes: SmoothSense, which automatically adjusts based on the ingredients, PrepIQ with six pre-set programs, and a manual mode with 10 speed settings. However, the system does not include connectivity features like a mobile app or synchronized recipes. In performance tests, the CrushBOSS showed strong results in making smoothies, hummus, cake batter, and fruit ice. Its blender, equipped with six stacked blades, was particularly effective at crushing ice and frozen fruits. It even outperformed a more expensive Thermomix TM7 in making a smooth raspberry ice. However, the device can be quite noisy at full speed and is not designed to handle hot liquids in the pitcher due to safety concerns. The kitchen robot function allows for chopping, slicing, and kneading, with the XL feed tube accommodating whole vegetables. While the kneading function worked well for doughs, some cuts were less uniform. The BlendBOSS bottle was noted as a popular accessory, capable of making a high-quality vegan milk cappuccino latte with a good foam. Cleaning the CrushBOSS is straightforward for individual components, but the large number of parts can make the process time-consuming. The device is available in three versions: the LB401 with all three containers, the LB201 with only the blender, and the LB301 with the blender and BlendBOSS bottle but without the kitchen robot bowl. The kitchen robot bowl and its MultiBlade disc are highlighted as key components that justify the higher price of the LB401.
