Winter flight expansion announced

Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER) has announced a new flight schedule for the winter season, running from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. The plan includes about 70 airlines offering flights to 140 destinations in 50 countries, with Eurowings and Wizz Air playing major roles in the expansion. New routes to Europe, the Middle East, and Finland are among the highlights.

New destinations and increased services

The winter program will include around 12 new destinations compared to the previous winter. Key markets include Italy, European capitals, major cities, Gulf destinations, and northern Europe. Airlines are increasing their winter offerings, with Eurowings expanding to Italy, the Middle East, and Lapland.

Eurowings expands its winter routes

Eurowings will extend several summer routes into the winter, including flights to Bilbao and Porto with two weekly services. Lisbon will be added in December, and Edinburgh will be served once or twice a week from 4 December to 4 January. Sarajevo will re-enter the network on 20 December, and northern Finland will see increased frequencies.

New in-flight services for Dubai

Eurowings plans to introduce its "Premium BIZ Seat" on all flights to Dubai starting 1 December. This will include eight seats in the first two rows of Airbus A320neo aircraft, arranged in a two-seat configuration on each side of the aisle.

Wizz Air adds new routes

Wizz Air is expanding its Berlin network to 17 destinations in 13 countries, adding six new routes. These include Sofia, which will be served four times a week starting 20 September. Vilnius will be added on 26 October with three weekly flights, and Sarajevo on 3 December with two flights per week.

New Italian and Balkan connections

Wizz Air will begin daily flights to Milan-Malpensa on 14 December, marking its first Italian destination from Berlin. Pristina will be launched on the same day with three weekly flights, and Suceava in northeastern Romania will be added on 17 December with three frequencies per week. In Milan, Wizz Air will join easyJet, which will serve both Malpensa and Linate this winter.

Enhanced Gulf connections

Abu Dhabi and Doha are enhancing transfer options. Condor operates a daily non-stop flight between Berlin and Abu Dhabi since 15 October, under a code-sharing agreement with Etihad Airways. Qatar Airways will resume three daily flights between Berlin and Doha starting 1 November, offering transfer options to Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East.

Adjustments to airport operations

Terminal 2 will see adjustments starting 2 November, with check-in counters opening two to two-and-a-half hours before departure. Passengers with only carry-on luggage can use Terminal 1's security checks, which will be open from 4 o'clock. All boarding gates will be accessible from all security checks.
