The "Special Discussion" video series includes interviews with key developers and guests from the Japanese gaming industry.Video Series Explores Game's Themes and Development
The first episode of the series features a conversation between Eternal Anima director Katsuhisa Higuchi and Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker. The two longtime collaborators discuss the game's central theme of "legacy," covering topics such as their passion for JRPGs and their attention to detail, including the contents of treasure chests. The video also explains how the team handled a time-travel narrative without creating paradoxes and how psychometry is used in the game's combat system.Music Producers Discuss RPG Soundtracks
The second episode brings together Hitoshi Sakimoto of Basiscape, who is the game's musical producer, and Nobuo Uematsu, a renowned composer known for his work on many JRPGs. They discuss musical expression, the challenges of creating soundtracks for JRPGs, and their hopes for the next generation of composers. The video also details how their collaboration influenced the Eternal Anima soundtrack.Game Features Time Travel and Inherited Abilities
Eternal Anima is described as a dramatic adventure that connects generations through a time-travel narrative. Players will explore multiple continents with distinct cultures and team up with ancestors and descendants across time. The game allows players to strengthen their allies using the abilities of their ancestors and to influence how past actions affect the present.Tactical Combat and Legacy-Focused Design
A key feature of the game is the Future Sight Battle system, which lets players predict enemy actions and devise strategies to counter them. This system adds a tactical twist to traditional JRPG combat, allowing players to delay or cancel enemy actions. The game also includes psychometric powers, which allow players to inherit abilities and hero classes from the past to face future challenges.Pre-Orders and Editions Available Soon
