Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in Lucama, North Carolina, is recalling about 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products that are falsely labeled with a USDA inspection number, "EST. 1363." This label implies that the products have been inspected by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), but in reality, the items were not inspected by federal authorities. This raises concerns that the meat may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that could pose a health risk to consumers. The affected meat was produced before September 22, 2026, and packaged under the label "A&D Foods." It was then sent to a distributor in Georgia, where it was intended for further distribution across the country to retail stores and restaurants. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). So far, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or health problems related to the recalled products. The recalled products were vacuum-sealed and packed in cardboard boxes for shipping. However, individual packages sold to consumers may not show the "EST. 1363" label, as retailers often apply their own stickers for pricing and safe handling instructions. This means that the fake label may not be visible on the final product sold to the public. Consumers who have purchased these products are advised to check the packaging for the "A&D Foods" label and the "EST. 1363" stamp. If found, they should stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase. The USDA encourages consumers to report any concerns or questions about the recall to their local food safety authorities or the FSIS directly.
