Sandra Wollner’s film Everytime is set to make its North American debut this week in Toronto, marking the start of a festival run that will also include stops at the New York and Vancouver film festivals. The film has already generated significant attention after receiving a standing ovation and winning the Un Certain Regard Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, a prestigious award that highlights innovative and artistically bold cinema. This is Wollner’s third feature film and continues her reputation as a filmmaker from Berlin, known for her distinctive storytelling and visual style. Everytime explores themes of memory, identity, and the passage of time, using a non-linear narrative that challenges traditional storytelling. The film’s structure, which weaves together different timelines and perspectives, has been praised for its emotional depth and cinematic originality. Wollner, who has previously directed films that have screened at major international festivals, is recognized for her ability to blend personal and universal themes into her work. The Toronto premiere is expected to draw both critics and moviegoers eager to see what has already impressed festival audiences across Europe. With its recent accolades and the anticipation surrounding its North American release, Everytime is positioned as a strong contender for further recognition at the upcoming festivals in New York and Vancouver. These events will provide an opportunity for audiences to experience the film’s unique vision and artistic achievements firsthand. As part of a growing trend of international cinema gaining prominence in North America, Everytime reflects the increasing interest in diverse voices and stories from around the world. Its journey through major film festivals is not only a testament to its quality but also highlights the global reach of contemporary cinema.
