SteamCube's features and capabilities

French steam iron expert SteamOne offers the SteamCube, a hybrid device with enhanced capabilities that can be compared to an ironing steam generator. Its soleplate is heated and can steam iron horizontally or vertically, with a claimed steam output of 125 g/min.

Strengths and weaknesses of the SteamCube

The SteamCube has several strengths, including very good ironing efficiency, the ability to be used vertically or horizontally, a heated soleplate, a relatively compact base, four steam outputs, a large water tank of 2.5 liters that is easy to fill and install, very good autonomy. However, it also has weaknesses, including a heavy ironing head, a steam hose that is too short, and the need for practice to avoid false creases when ironing vertically.

Design and usability of the SteamCube

The powerful steam output can heat the fingers, and the device has slightly high energy consumption. SteamOne aims to offer a hybrid device with the SteamCube, which can both iron and steam. Its large heated soleplate provides excellent coverage of fabrics and proves very effective thanks to its powerful steam output.

Limitations of the SteamCube

Adjustable on four levels, this output is activated by an easily accessible trigger. The 2.5 liter water tank is easy to fill and install, avoiding the need to go back to the water source. However, it takes some practice to avoid false creases and shorten ironing sessions before the device becomes burdensome on the arm. Finally, the short steam hose is quickly limiting; it is not possible to easily steam iron curtains.

Price comparison methodology

The price decrease mentioned is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices practiced by all merchants for the product last month, with safety rules to exclude prices from stores with unclear VAT policies (called "gray" stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternative steam iron on the market

Alternative Calor AeroSteam is another steam iron that brings something new to the steam iron market. In addition to creating steam, the device sucks up the clothes to press them against the steam nozzles and the heated soleplate. For a steam iron, the result is excellent, so much so that one forgets the iron.

Limitations of the Calor AeroSteam

However, the AeroSteam is heavy and becomes quickly cumbersome. Moreover, one should not imagine discreetly steaming a garment: the noise level of the Calor is similar to that of a real vacuum cleaner.
