KimStim, a well-known independent film distributor, has acquired the North American distribution rights for Bruno Dumont’s latest film, Red Rocks. The film made its world premiere earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight section, a platform known for showcasing innovative and often unconventional cinema. The movie is set for a theatrical release in North America in 2027, after which it will become available on digital platforms and through home entertainment formats such as DVD and Blu-ray. Set on the French Riviera, Red Rocks follows two rival characters as they navigate a series of tense and morally ambiguous situations. Bruno Dumont, a French filmmaker known for his distinctive style and often provocative storytelling, has built a reputation for exploring themes of power, identity, and social inequality. His previous works, such as Twentynine Palms and Camille Claudel, have garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated following. The acquisition by KimStim marks another step in the distributor’s commitment to bringing international cinema to North American audiences. KimStim has a history of working with European and Latin American filmmakers, often focusing on films that challenge traditional narratives and push artistic boundaries. This partnership with Dumont is expected to bring his latest work to a broader audience, offering viewers a chance to experience his unique cinematic vision. With its release planned for 2027, Red Rocks will have several years of anticipation and promotion ahead. This allows for marketing efforts to build interest among film enthusiasts and critics, ensuring a strong reception when it finally reaches theaters. The film’s focus on the French Riviera, a setting often associated with luxury and leisure, contrasts with the more gritty and intense themes that Dumont is known for, making it an intriguing addition to his filmography.
