A playable demo of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse will be available before the game’s official release on October 15. This demo will let players experience the beginning of the game and get familiar with its gameplay and visual style. Konami, the Japanese video game company, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise with this new installment, which will be released on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The demo was announced on September 20 via the social media platform X and is scheduled to launch on October 1. It will be available on all platforms where the full game will be sold, with one exception: on the Nintendo Switch, the game will run at 30 frames per second, compared to 60 on other platforms. This difference is due to the technical limitations of the Switch console. The demo includes gameplay sections that were shown at gamescom 2026, giving players a sneak peek of the game’s content. The storyline of the demo is set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. Players take on the role of Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, a central character in the Castlevania series. The demo will be available in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, traditional and simplified Chinese, and Korean. The size of the demo varies by platform, ranging from 3 to 6 gigabytes. The full game will be sold at a price of 30 euros for the standard version, with a special Midnight edition priced at 40 euros that includes additional digital content. The game is developed by Evil Empire, a French studio known for its work on Castlevania titles. Players who purchase the game on the same platform where they played the demo and use the same user account will be able to transfer their save data to the final version, allowing them to continue their progress seamlessly.
