New business venture in Caen area

Charlotte and Julien Vauquelin, siblings based in Saint-Aignan-de-Cramesnil, have launched a poultry workshop and a store as part of their strategy to diversify their business. The store opened in April 2026 after a year of preparation and is located at the Le Castelet exit on the N158, near Caen.

Store offerings and focus

The store offers a wide range of products including meats, cheeses, dairy items, fruits, vegetables, beverages, and sweets. The venture is part of the siblings’ shared goal to create a farm shop that emphasizes short supply chains and supports local producers.

Local partnerships and project name

The project, named La Ferme de la Jalousie, features a dozen local producers. Charlotte and Julien emphasized that they are working more than before but enjoy their work and are pleased to be free of debt. Their long-term goal is to expand their operations further.

Future plans for chicken production

The siblings plan to convert their two mobile chicken coops into chick hatcheries. By 2028, the farm aims to have around 6,000 chickens, reflecting their ambition to grow their poultry business sustainably.
