Fuel thefts from parked trucks in France have raised concerns, with 150 and 300 liters stolen in separate incidents.
Two fuel thefts reported
Two separate incidents of fuel theft were reported in the region, with the first occurring during the night of October 31 to November 1, 2026, and the second during the night of November 1 to 2. First theft at Quingey
The first incident involved a semi-truck parked in Quingey, where 150 liters of fuel were stolen during the night before the report was made on November 1. Second theft on A36 highway
The second theft occurred at the Pelousey rest area on the A36 highway, where a foreign driver’s truck had approximately 300 liters of diesel stolen while the driver was on a break. No damage to the vehicle
Despite the theft, no visible damage was observed on the vehicle involved in the second incident, suggesting the thief or thieves did not cause physical harm to the truck. Investigations underway
The gendarmerie, which is France’s military police force, is currently investigating both incidents to determine the circumstances and identify those responsible.
