EPCOR signs maintenance contract with Airbus

EPCOR, a subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), has signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Space to provide maintenance services for auxiliary power units (APU) on A330 MRTT aircraft operated by Airbus's clients worldwide.

Maintenance will occur at Schiphol-Rijk workshop

The EPCOR workshop located in Schiphol-Rijk, near Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport, will handle the repair, general overhaul, and testing of these APUs. This facility is positioned to serve clients across the globe who operate the A330 MRTT.

Airbus official highlights partnership strength

Felipe Steinmetz, vice president of supply services at Airbus Defence and Space, emphasized the importance of the partnership with AFI KLM E&M, stating that the integration of EPCOR into their collaboration strengthens support for A330 MRTT operators. He noted the value of working with partners who understand operational needs.

Expanding existing maintenance cooperation

This new contract expands an existing cooperation with the MRO division of Air France-KLM. Previously, the partnership covered engine and equipment maintenance, and now it includes APU maintenance through EPCOR's specialized expertise.

A330 MRTT uses specific APU model

The A330 MRTT aircraft, which are based on the Airbus A330-200 platform, are equipped with Honeywell GTCP331-350C auxiliary power units. This model is a key component in the aircraft's operation, providing power when the main engines are not running.
