Marathon causes traffic restrictions

The Toulouse marathon, scheduled for Sunday, November 1st, will lead to major traffic disruptions across the city. Restrictions will begin on Saturday, October 31st at 13:00 and remain in effect until Sunday, November 1st at 21:00.

Road closures on marathon day

On Sunday morning, closures will extend to a large part of the city center and areas traversed by the race. From 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, drivers will not be able to circulate on the Capitole square, the streets of Alsace-Lorraine and Languedoc, the Brienne and Paul-Feuga avenues, or near the Prairie des Filtres and the Stadium.

Varying closure times by sector

The hours of closure will vary according to the sectors. The Demoiselles, Frédéric-Mistral, and François-Verdier avenues, as well as the Boulingrin square, will be closed from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The Gare, Saint-Sauveur bridge, and Griffoul-Dorval boulevards will be affected from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Highway access points affected

Deviations on highway access points will also be implemented, particularly in the south of the city. At interchanges 15, 16, and 18, exits towards the city center will be closed, and drivers will need to refer to interchange 17. At interchanges 20 and 21, access to the highway from the city center, at the level of the Méditerranée boulevard, will be interrupted.

Additional highway restrictions

Interchange 24 will also be closed. To reach Empalot, drivers will have to use interchange 23. Drivers wishing to reach the city center can use interchange 27 on the Saint-Cyprien side or interchange 17. As for travelers heading to the SNCF station, it is recommended to prefer an access from the north via interchanges 30 or 14.

Parking restrictions in the city center

Finding a parking spot in the city center will also be more difficult on Sunday. Several parking lots will temporarily close according to the following hours: Jean-Jaurès from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saint-Aubin from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and others with varying times.

Public transport disruptions

Public transport will also be affected, though it can be an alternative to avoid traffic jams. On metro line B, the Jeanne-d'Arc station will be closed. The T1 tram will not operate between Palais-de-Justice and Arènes.

Cemetery access disruptions

On All Saints Day, travel to cemeteries will also require some precautions. At Terre-Cabade and Salonique, disruptions are planned from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, while the Montaudran area will be affected from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Cristal market cancelled

Finally, regulars of the Cristal market will also have to adjust their habits: the market, usually held on the Strasbourg boulevard, is cancelled on Sunday.
