Event highlights rural women's challenges

On October 15, the commission of Female Farmers of the FDSEA of Corrèze organized an event in Tulle to address issues of prevention, safety, and well-being. The event took place on International Rural Women's Day, emphasizing the importance of health and quality of life for women in agriculture.

Training on emergency response

The morning session featured a training on life-saving gestures led by the Departmental Union of Firefighters of Corrèze. Participants learned practical skills such as securing a victim, managing hemorrhages, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, all critical in areas far from emergency services.

Roundtable on women's rights

A roundtable discussion followed, with Marie Renard, the departmental delegate for women's rights and equality, and representatives from the Maison de Soie and the Écoute et Soutien association. The discussion covered policies on violence, equality, and women's health, highlighting ongoing challenges in achieving true equality.

Mental health challenges in agriculture

Mental health was a central topic, with factors like violence, stress, and isolation contributing to physical and psychological issues. The Écoute et Soutien association provided information on available support services and emphasized the national helpline 3114 for those in distress.

Importance of women's networks

Testimonies underscored the role of women's networks in reducing isolation. Professional and union meetings allow female farmers to share experiences and find support, fostering solidarity and open dialogue in the agricultural community.

Focus on well-being and inclusion

The FDSEA commission emphasized that health and safety are vital for female farmers. The initiative seeks to recognize their contributions, encourage their involvement in professional life, and improve working and living conditions in rural areas.
