Starbucks fans have voiced frustration over its latest merchandise release, a collaboration with the beloved Peanuts characters. The collection includes 10 collectible items, such as a 16oz tumbler, a mini tote bag, and a charm. Some items were reserved for Starbucks Rewards members, who can access exclusive offers through the company's app. The most popular item was the $39.95 20oz Snoopy cold cup, which resembles the highly sought-after “Bearista” cup that sparked a frenzy last year. Customers have expressed disappointment over the difficulty in acquiring the items, with many reporting long lines and limited stock. On social media, one fan wrote, "I've gone to multiple Starbucks and instead of a rock I've just come away empty handed. Snoopy cups are gone," adding an iconic Charlie Brown "I got a rock" gif. Another customer lamented, "I thought about going super early to try and get the #Snoopy cup from @Starbucks today... But having to get up before 4am just to go line up is ridiculous." Others described the scene at Starbucks as chaotic, with one person writing, "I feel like an alien watching a human greed social experiment." Some Starbucks Reserve members — the highest tier of the rewards program — also faced challenges in obtaining exclusive Peanuts merchandise. One customer shared on X, "As a Reserve member, still can't order any special collection stuff. My wife LOVES Snoopy and one of these tumblers would be loved... But again, can't get anything because the website is down, and stores are already out at 3:00 AM." This is not the first time Starbucks has faced backlash over limited edition products. Last year, the company issued an apology for the Bearista cups, which sold out quickly despite increased shipments. The Independent has reached out to Starbucks for a response. While the company has not yet commented on this latest merchandise launch, it has previously acknowledged the challenges of meeting high demand for its limited edition items. Fans continue to hope for a more seamless experience in the future, as the popularity of these collectible products shows no signs of slowing down.
