Mikel Arteta has been the manager of Arsenal since December 2019. During his time at the club, he has led them to significant successes, including winning the FA Cup in his first season and playing a crucial role in their Premier League title win in 2026. Arteta also guided the team to a Champions League final, where they faced Paris Saint-Germain and lost on penalties. His current contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of this season, but he signed a last-minute extension in 2024. Arteta has reassured fans that he is happy at the club and has no immediate plans to leave. Nedum Onuoha, a former defender for Manchester City, has shared his thoughts on Arteta’s future at Arsenal. While he acknowledges Arteta’s achievements, including a potential 10-year tenure at the club, Onuoha believes Arteta may not remain in his current role for the long term. He suggested that Arteta might seek new opportunities in the next three to four years, possibly moving to a club like Barcelona. Onuoha noted that managing in the Premier League can be extremely demanding, and Arteta might want a change of scenery or a break from the intense pressure of the job. Hansi Flick is currently the manager of FC Barcelona, a position that has drawn attention due to Arteta’s potential future move. Flick has previously managed Bayern Munich and has experience in top European leagues, making him a notable figure in the current managerial landscape. While Arteta’s future remains uncertain, his current focus is on the upcoming season at Arsenal, where he aims to continue delivering success for the club and its supporters. Arteta’s legacy at Arsenal is already significant, with multiple trophies and a strong foundation built under his leadership. Whether he stays or moves on, his impact on the club has been substantial. Fans will be watching closely as the season progresses, hoping for more success and clarity on his long-term future.
