OpenAI launches French ad campaign

OpenAI began its first advertising campaign in France on October 19, 2026, titled Les Grands-Mères. The campaign focuses on introducing two new French voices, Aube and Rivage, into ChatGPT, aiming to highlight their practical use in daily life.

Campaign features fictional characters

The campaign features three characters: Monique and Sophie, two grandmothers, and Hakim, a young actor. They interact in a café, exploring the features of ChatGPT Voix through various scenarios, demonstrating how the voice assistant can assist with everyday tasks.

Creative style breaks traditional norms

The campaign uses unconventional advertising techniques, including showing the production team on screen, interactions with the director, and characters who deviate from the script, creating a more engaging and transparent experience for viewers.

Media distribution across multiple platforms

The campaign includes three short films, directed and edited by Mat LaRoche for MindsEye, available in 30 and 15-second versions. They are broadcast on demand on TF1+, M6+, and Canal+, as well as on streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+.

Social media and extended content

In addition to television and streaming platforms, the campaign is present on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. A longer version, a 2 minute 20 second film, is also available on YouTube for deeper engagement with the audience.
