The autumn has brought a beautiful light, making it the perfect time to enjoy concerts and festivals by the sea, offering a warm farewell to summer. On 3 October, the Théâtre du Châtelet will host an exceptional evening celebrating the 20th anniversary of Born Bad Records, a label founded by Jean-Baptiste Guillot. The event will feature a lineup of artists representing indie and underground rock, including Frustration, Vox Low, Gwendoline, Bryan’s Magic Tears, Zombie Zombie, Forever Pavot, Bracco, Arthur Satan, and Île de Garde. This night will highlight two decades of musical experimentation and discovery. On 8 October, Bill Callahan, known for his work with the band Smog, will perform at the Trianon. Following the release of his album My Days of 58, he will be joined by guitarist Matt Kinsey, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and drummer Jim White. The same evening, Ed O’Brien, guitarist of Radiohead, will present an immersive concert at the Salle Pleyel. His solo album Blue Morpho was created during a period of depression and draws inspiration from the landscapes of Wales. The concert will feature musicians who contributed to the album, including arranger Dave Okumu. On 10 October, the Manchester-based band WU LYF returns to France for three performances, including one in Paris. Their album A Wave That Will Never Break has been praised as one of the best of the year. The Lemon Twigs will perform at La Cigale on 11 October. Known for their pop genius, the brothers Brian and Michael d'Addario will showcase their sixth album Look For Your Mind! with a strong supporting cast. On 12 and 13 October, James Blake will perform at the Grand Rex, bringing his album Trying Times to life with a special guest, Monica Martin. From 14 to 16 October, the MaMA Music & Convention festival will take place in Pigalle and Montmartre, featuring concerts, conferences, and meetings. The lineup includes artists like Adés the Planet, Lionstorm, and Sheng. On 15 October, Stevie Wonder will perform at the Accor Arena to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his album Songs in the Key of Life, including four unreleased tracks. Angine de Poitrine will perform at Elysée Montmartre on 21 and 22 October, with both dates already sold out. The Swim Festival in La Rochelle, from 21 to 25 October, promises a mix of independent music, natural wine, and oysters. The Strokes will perform at the Accor Arena on 22 October with special guests Alex Cameron and Fat White Family. The festival continues with performances by Chanel Beads, Kelela, and Cat Power, each offering a unique musical experience.
