As RAM prices continue to rise, building a custom gaming PC may not be the most budget-friendly option. Instead, choosing a pre-assembled gaming laptop could be more practical. The **HP Omen Max 16-ak0020nf**, for instance, is currently on sale with a 450 euro discount, making it an attractive choice for gamers. Priced at 2,599 euros before the promotion, it's now available for 2,149 euros at Leclerc. The **HP Omen Max 16** features a 16-inch IPS QHD+ display with a 240 Hz refresh rate, a Ryzen AI 7 processor, 32 GB of RAM, and an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, along with a 1 TB SSD for storage. The design is relatively simple, with a classic black chassis and no standout geometric details. However, it includes an RGB backlit keyboard, which helps with visibility in low-light conditions. Despite its performance, the laptop is bulky and weighs 2.7 kg, making it less ideal for portability. The display panel is a 16-inch IPS QHD+ screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The 16:10 aspect ratio offers more vertical space than the traditional 16:9 format, and the screen is said to reach a brightness of 500 nits. The 240 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth visuals and reduces motion blur. Connectivity options are robust, including two USB-A ports, two USB-C USB4 ports (40 Gb/s), an HDMI 2.1 port, an RJ-45 Ethernet port (2.5 Gb/s), and a combo headset/microphone jack. The laptop also supports up to three HyperX devices simultaneously via the Instant Pair technology. In terms of performance, the **HP Omen Max 16** is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with 8 cores and a boost clock speed of up to 5 GHz. It is paired with 32 GB of RAM, allowing for multitasking and handling complex applications. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card supports advanced features like DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation (MFG), which increases frame rates at the cost of a slight latency increase. The 1 TB SSD offers fast game loading and storage for a large library of games. However, due to its high power consumption, the battery life is limited, and the laptop is best used while plugged in.
