Origins of the festival

Pint of Science originated in London in 2013, when researchers Michael Motskin and Praveen Paul moved scientific discussions from laboratories to pubs. This idea aimed to make science more approachable and engaging for the general public.

French adaptation

The French branch of Pint of Science was launched in 2014 by Elodie Chabrol. It follows the same principle of bringing scientists and the public together in informal settings, such as bars, to discuss scientific topics in a relaxed environment.

Event scale and scope

The festival features over 270 meetings across France, with more than 600 scientists participating. These events cover six major themes, including health, the environment, astronomy, technology, and civilizations. At least 100 bars in France will host events, supported by 400 volunteers.

Global expansion

The 2027 edition of Pint of Science will take place in 26 countries and 400 cities worldwide. In France, 10,000 tickets will be available for 2 euros each. Tickets and event details can be found on the official website, pintofscience.fr.
