Audi revises 2026 targets due to global sales declines, with China and U.S. tariffs impacting performance.
Audi revises 2026 sales targets
Audi has adjusted its sales goals for 2026 due to declining global sales and ongoing market challenges. The brand delivered 328,042 vehicles in China since the start of 2026, a 24.5 percent drop, and saw an 11.4 percent decline in global deliveries to 1,042,150 units.Regional performance varies
While Audi saw modest growth in Germany (+1.8 percent) and the rest of Europe (+1.3 percent), these gains were not enough to counterbalance the sharp declines in key markets like China. The broader Audi Group, which includes Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ducati, delivered 1,056,103 vehicles globally.Electric vehicle sales rise
Despite the overall decline, Audi’s electric vehicle sales showed strong growth in Germany, increasing by 39.1 percent, and in China, where they rose by 84.7 percent. This indicates a growing shift toward electric vehicles, even as overall sales remain down.Operating profit drops significantly
After nine months of operations, Audi Group reported a 26 percent drop in operating profit, bringing it to 1.15 billion euros. The operating margin also fell to 2.7 percent, down 0.5 percentage points, due to factors like U.S. tariffs and the Middle East conflict.Revised financial outlook
Audi has lowered its full-year revenue forecast to between 55 and 59 billion euros, down from a previous estimate of 58 to 63 billion euros. Revenue has already fallen by 13.1 percent to 42.1 billion euros in the first nine months of the year.Audi reaffirms commitment to Germany
Audi’s chief financial officer, Jürgen Rittersberger, clarified that the company’s planned U.S. plant was not a rejection of Germany. He emphasized that Germany remains central to Audi’s operations, particularly in the development of its advanced technologies.
