UCAM Murcie defeated FC Barcelona 100-94 in their first home game of the season in Liga Endesa, Spain's top basketball league. Jean-Marc Pansa, who came off the bench, recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds. Pansa played 25 minutes, more than any other player on Murcie's team, and helped the team respond after a loss to Gérone (84-77) in the first round. He had previously secured eight rebounds against Gérone and continued his strong rebounding performance against Barcelona, finishing as the game's top rebounder. Pansa also scored 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting, earning a 15-point evaluation in the game's scoring system. The game was tied at halftime (46-46), but Murcie entered the fourth quarter trailing by three points (70-73). The home team then scored 10 consecutive points to take the lead (80-73). Barcelona narrowed the gap to one point (83-82), but Pansa scored near the rim, followed by a three-point shot from Toni Nakic, who had previously played for Dijon. Murcie scored 30 points in the final quarter in front of their large home crowd. Jonah Radebaugh was the team's leading scorer with 16 points, ahead of former Limougeaud player Souley Boum (15). Kevin Punter's 18 points and Justin Robinson's 17 points were not enough for Barcelona, who continue to struggle in the paint. Pansa, who arrived at Murcie this summer after a season with Sabah BC in Azerbaijan, played his first game at the Palacio de Deportes in his new team's colors. One week after scoring 6 points and securing 8 rebounds against Gérone, Pansa increased his rebound production and playing time against Barcelona. His performance highlighted his impact on the team's strategy, particularly in securing offensive rebounds that led to second-chance points. Pansa and his teammates will now aim to start their European season well, facing the Italian team from Varese on Wednesday. This will be an opportunity to face another French center, Ismaël Kamagaté, and test their readiness for international competition. The game against Varese is expected to be a key match for Murcie as they look to build momentum early in their season.
