Digne returns to training after rest day

Lucas Digne returned to training at the PSG Campus on October 21, following a rest day for his teammates after Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 Champions League victory over FC Barcelona. The left-back has been trying to find a consistent place in the team since joining PSG this summer.

Limited playing time for Digne

Digne has only played five matches for PSG, three as a starter, accumulating 247 minutes of playing time. Even when his main rival, Nuno Mendes, was unavailable, coach Luis Enrique has chosen either Lucas Hernandez or Warren Zaïre-Emery, who is not a traditional left-back.

Digne's frustration and determination

According to Le Parisien, Digne has privately expressed frustration over his limited opportunities. He mentioned he would have liked to take advantage of his competitors' absences to gain more playing time and establish himself within the team hierarchy. Despite this, Digne remains determined to improve his situation.

Enrique's feedback to Digne

Coach Luis Enrique has praised Digne's professionalism and dedication, acknowledging his commitment. However, he emphasized that Digne needs to better understand the tactical demands of his role in PSG's system, particularly the specific responsibilities of the full-backs in the club's style of play.

Uncertainty about Digne's future

The challenge of adapting to PSG's system may partly explain Digne's limited playing time. However, questions remain about his long-term future at the club, especially considering he is 33 years old and competing with younger players for a starting position.
