ADIE is mobilizing young entrepreneurs in Mayotte, offering support and resources to help them launch and grow their businesses.
Mobilization campaign for young entrepreneurs in Mayotte
From October 12 to 16, the Association for the Right to Economic Initiative (ADIE) is conducting a mobilization campaign in Mayotte among entrepreneurs under the age of 30. The objective is to raise awareness about financial management and provide the keys to sustain their activities. The teams have gone to meet the young people in many communes on the island.Support for young entrepreneurs in 2025
In 2025, 133 young Mahorais were able to realize their projects with the support of ADIE, representing 13% of the local project holders supported. ADIE organizes three entrepreneurship weeks per year. After entrepreneurship in the neighborhoods in February and women's entrepreneurship in June, this October edition highlights young entrepreneurs.Events across Mayotte
Tomorrow, in Kawéni, ADIE is organizing an entrepreneurs' market, which brings together people it supports and finances. The event will take place at the MJC of Kawéni. ADIE is also participating in the job and insertion forum organized by the city of Dembéni, where it will have a stand.Additional information meetings
ADIE is also organizing an information meeting in Combani in partnership with the local mission. ADIE has participated in organizing the entrepreneurs' and insertion village at the MJC of Combani, with the presence of many training centers. It was thus able to provide specific information to young people.More events planned
On Thursday, ADIE will organize an information meeting in the north of the island, in Acoua, with the association Tarifitika. Finally, on Friday morning, a collective information session will take place at the local mission of Petite-Terre.ADIE's presence in Mayotte
ADIE Mayotte currently has two agencies: its main agency in Kawéni, in Mamoudzou, and another in Bandrélé, where it is organizing today's event. A third agency will open in Tsingoni next week.Regular services in several communes
To meet entrepreneurs throughout the territory, ADIE also provides regular services in several communes, notably in Petite-Terre, Hamjago, Sada, Ouangani and Dembéni. It also has the BIMobile, a van fitted out as a mobile office that allows it to welcome and inform the public directly.Challenges in supporting young entrepreneurs
Despite a very young population, young Mahorais remain underrepresented among those supported by ADIE. The association is therefore multiplying actions with training centers to better inform them about administrative procedures and support opportunities. The main obstacle remains access to financing.ADIE's financial approach
ADIE emphasizes that anyone can start a business, regardless of their educational level, provided they have access to appropriate financing and support. ADIE has not set a specific numerical target for 2026 but intends to increase the number of young entrepreneurs it supports.Tailored financial support
Last year, ADIE financed 1,025 entrepreneurs in Mayotte, with young people aged 18 to 30 representing a very small part of this population. The association is multiplying actions aimed at them and information initiatives, as well as with training centers, local missions and all the organizations in contact with young people.Gradual financial support
ADIE mainly adapts the amount of financing to avoid putting young people in difficulty. The goal is not to lend them 15,000 euros right away, but to proceed gradually to support the creation and development of their business. The particularity of ADIE is that it can finance an entrepreneur several times, depending on their needs.Reaching young people through partnerships
ADIE identifies and reaches young people through regular services in the premises of the local community action centers (CCAS) or the France Services houses. It works closely with these structures. It also works with the Adapted Military Service Regiment (RSMA) to reach young people. This organization also has a support program for business creation.Mobile outreach efforts
ADIE's objective is to offer financing solutions upon their exit from the RSMA. To meet young people, ADIE has a specially equipped van that allows it to intervene directly on site. The teams can also move on foot, walking through the village streets to meet merchants, residents and, naturally, young people.Collaboration with local organizations
ADIE also works closely with the CCAS and the France Services houses. These partnerships facilitate exchanges and the orientation of people who want to start a business.Entrepreneurs' markets in Kawéni
ADIE organizes several markets in Kawéni several times a year to highlight the entrepreneurs it supports and finances. Ready-to-wear, craftsmanship, horticulture, beauty products or hairdressing: professionals from various sectors come to present and sell their products and services on stands provided free of charge by the association.Promoting visibility and engagement
The objective is to offer them a real showcase, especially to those who do not have their own premises, in order to develop their activities and become known. ADIE also contributes to their visibility by promoting their products and activities on its social networks. This market is also an opportunity to encourage exchanges with young people.
