Premiere in Marseille

Gorfou-Tornade by Héloïse Desrivières premiered in Marseille, offering a vibrant theatrical experience that uses humor and celebration to address themes of violence and renewal. The production explores a cold, distant world where anger and resource depletion threaten stability.

A world of ice and conflict

The story is set in a frozen world where a dramatic event—a dead MiniGorfou—triggers collective fear and institutional violence. The narrative follows the consequences of frenzied consumption and the eventual collapse of this fragile world, leading to a story of renewal and resurgence.

Creative storytelling and transformation

Desrivières uses a playful and inclusive language, giving power to childhood and emphasizing hope over resignation. The performance features a frenzied rhythm, integral music and sound effects, and a transforming stage that shifts from a white ice world to a reflective, multifaceted ball where the audience dances together.
