Samsung unveils new earbuds in South Korea

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Buds On earbuds in South Korea on October 27. These earbuds are designed to sit on the outside of the ear, a design already used by other companies, but with unique features aimed at improving user experience and comfort.

Adaptive design for comfort and stability

The earbuds use a shape memory alloy to adjust to the shape of the user’s ear, ensuring they stay in place during physical activity. This material allows the earbuds to conform to different ear shapes, providing a more personalized and secure fit.

Sound technology and audio quality

The earbuds use air conduction for sound delivery and feature 11.3 mm Twin Boost speakers that combine two woofers to enhance mid-bass frequencies. This design aims to provide richer, more immersive audio compared to traditional earbud designs.

Noise isolation and call clarity

Samsung has included three microphones, a bone conduction sensor, and an Intelligent Clear Call function to isolate the user’s voice, even in windy outdoor conditions. This helps improve call clarity and reduces background noise during conversations.

Battery life and durability

The earbuds are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform chip and offer up to 9.5 hours of playback with a single charge. They are also certified IP54, meaning they are resistant to water and dust, making them suitable for various environments.

Design and availability in South Korea

The earbuds are available in a single black color and are priced at 299,000 won, approximately 225 dollars or 190 euros. They can be purchased through Samsung.com, online marketplaces, and Samsung Stores in South Korea.

Promotional offers and future plans

Samsung is offering buyers until November 30 a 30% discount on Galaxy Buds accessories purchased through Samsung.com, with the discount valid until December 20. A phased rollout in other countries is planned, but no specific schedule or price has been announced for France.

Integration with Galaxy smartphones

The Galaxy Buds On are designed to work closely with Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones, particularly with Galaxy AI and Gemini Live features, to enhance functionality and differentiate the product in the competitive earbud market.
